2021 Grand Marshals for the Kentuckiana Pride Parade
Louisville, Kentucky, (September 29, 2021) Kentuckiana Pride Foundation (KPF) is proud to announce that the LGBTQIA+ Healthcare Workers & Allies is the Grand Marshals for this year’s Kentuckiana Pride Parade presented by the University of Louisville. The parade will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021, beginning at 7:00 PM (Eastern Time). The parade route starts at Campbell Street and will work its way up Preston Street leading to the Big Four Lawn.
A little more than a year ago, Covid-19 changed the way family and friends interacted and gathered. Pride month parades, festivals, and events were among those things impacted around the world due to the pandemic. Pride is about celebrating the LGBTQIA+ culture, rights, and voices. Join us as we gather to celebrate those things, as well as, the lives of so many friends, family, and allies who lost their lives due to Covid-19 or other illnesses.
Kentuckian’s turned to our healthcare workers during these unprecedented times. Nurses, doctors, and other healthcare workers have tirelessly provided needed services over the past year fighting against the pandemic. KPF recognizes the sacrifices of these frontline workers who have donated their time, weekends, and left their friends and family to care for others.
