This award is to encourage and reward commitment to community service.

The Amirage Saling Community Service Award is presented through the generosity of the Kentuckiana Pride Foundation annually to one individual, and is named in honor of the late Amirage Saling, an exemplary community servant.

To be eligible for nomination, a nominee must (1) live within the Greater Louisville Metropolitan area (including southern Indiana), and (2) be involved in supporting the LGBTQIAA Community through service to multiple organizations. This award recognizes exemplary community service. For a previous recipient to be nominated, at least five years must have passed since the nominee’s most recent recognition with this award. Candidates for this award must be nominated by an individual or organization within the Greater Louisville Metropolitan area (including Southern Indiana).

It is the responsibility of the nominee to ensure completion of the application portfolio. Recipient of this award will receive a $500 check from the Kentuckiana Pride Foundation, will have a $2,000 contribution made to the University of Louisville Kent School of Social Work’s Amirage Saling Trans Champion Scholarship fund in their name, a $20 White Castle Gift Card, and will receive a Plaque/Award presented at the Kentuckiana Pride Festival.
